project is for the rehabilitation of an existing tram route (the Route)
which connects the Railway Station in the southern part of the City with
one of the gates of the Port, known as Poarta 6, which provides access to
the southern part of the Port. Part of the Route runs parallel to one of
the largest Boulevards in the City, “1st of May Boulevard”,
which provides the main route out of the City in the direction of Eforie

commissioned at the end of 1996 and ran from that date until it was
suspended in February 2003.

closed landfill site. In the longer term the project could be connected
at both ends to form a sustainable tram system for the whole area contributing
to a reduction in emissions, car use etc whilst maintaining peace and
quite for the birds.
